Light Up The Night In Orange County – December 21
A long exposure is when a camera takes one image continuously for a chosen amount of time. To enable a camera to do this, the ISO, aperture, and shutter speed must set appropriately to get the right exposure. They all play a part in controlling the exposure of images. Additionally, when a long exposure photo is being shot at night, any moving source of light appears on the image as a trail of light.

In this photowalk you will learn to capture light trails in the vast LA Cityscapes and create a sense of energy and motion in your final images. This workshop will focus on two main locations along the 110 freeway in Downtown LA. You will be instructed on camera settings and shown how to find creative compositions.

Los Angeles Night Crawl – March 21
When the sun goes down, the cameras come out. Photograph the City of Angels in its night-time glory. Capture Disney Concert Hall, Grand Park Fountains, The Financial District, and more. You will be directed to the best camera locations along the way. There will be a fair amount of walking, so bring comfortable shoes.
Olvera Street – March 14
Olvera Street is a living museum paying homage to a romantic vision of old Mexico. The exterior facades of the brick buildings enclosing Olvera Street and on the small vendor stands lining its center are colorful piñatas, hanging puppets in white peasant garb, Mexican pottery, serapes, mounted bull horns, over sized sombreros, and a life-size stuffed donkey. Olvera Street attracts almost two million visitors per year.

Santa Monica Pier Sunset Shoot – January 10
The Santa Monica Pier is home to a world of entertainment, from carousel rides to shopping to arcades. But it is also an amazing place for photographers to experiment, sharpen their skills, and capture beautiful evening photographs. Join your Digital Photo Academy instructor to photograph the sunset over the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Pier at sunset. You should bring your DSLR or another type of camera that you use, a fully-charged battery, and the equipment that you can carry. It would be helpful to bring a tripod if you have one to utilize long exposures, though you will also learn other means to steady your camera without a tripod.
